I had thought a lot about doing something like this. It was supposed that the winter was gone so we planned a good Easter on motorbike, we were lucky it didn’t rain and it wasn’t too cold.
After work we hit the road to arrive to Dover port, where we’d take a ferry to France.

The ferry was delayed and so our tight plan started to fail. After talking with the owner of the place where we’d sleep, we left the ferry heading Belgium. The first part was fine but the second, at night and a country we didn’t know, it was a bit hard. At the end we arrived, at a hostel not far from Bruges which is a loft where the rooms are against the wall and in the middle you can park the motorbike.

Bikers Loft Groenedijk, that’s the name of the hostel, also it is wall against wall to a motorcycle museum. Personally I recommend the place to spend the night (looks like it’s quite busy on weekends) and once there make a visit to the museum, it’s worth it. After this, we left towards our final destination, Amsterdam.

The return was in one step, even the tiredness gained it was shorter than expected. We had the bad luck of missing the previous ferry for 10 minutes so we had to wait 3 hours in the port where there isn’t even a coffee shop. At the end, 650 miles (without the ferry) in 4 days, not bad for the first trip.

Infidelidad?

As an excuse to ride through the city we went to the MCN London Motorcycle show; we spent the day looking motorbikes and sitting on them. I paid special attention to a german one and while I was checking the riding position a friendly girl came to ask me if I wanted to join a raffle and then get my details.

This is how the parking was when we arrived, when we left it was full

It doesn’t seem real, barely 6 months alter buying my SV I was about to test another one... A BMW dealer called to offer me a test as they got my details and they knew about my interest on the motorbike.
I arrived there and after signing some paperwork I got the keys. I only had an hour and as I wasn’t far from home I took the highway to get to ride along some roads I already knew and do a bit of everything.

I won’t review the motorbike, basically because I’m not experience enough, but I liked it a lot to travel and even though it has a couple of bad things I think it’s a great motorbike. Anyway it isn’t motorbike for me, at least now, very smooth and relaxed; in part I’m happy about that, my SV gives me feelings that the BMW can’t, so for now I don’t even think about changing it.
